桃園縣早期因農田灌溉之需，開墾許多埤塘，故有「千湖縣」美譽，除了桃園縣外，還有其他如雙連埤、鴛鴦湖等天然埤塘濕地，在這些濕地環境下，滋養著多樣性的生物如高體??、羅漢魚等。是觀察水下世界的最好方式。
